Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian lost a heartbreaker to Temple Christian when they met back in January of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The Calvary Christian Spartans fell 53-46 to the Temple Christian Pioneers. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Calvary Christian still got an impressive performance from Christian Rogan, who posted 12 points. Rogan has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Schmidt, who earned four points and six rebounds.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Temple Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.

Calvary Christian will head out to take on Emmanuel Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. As for Temple Christian, they will host Ridgedale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgedale will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Temple Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
