Recap: Lutheran Lions vs. Cimarron-Memorial Spartans
The Lutheran Lions were the 75-68 winner over the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Lutheran fell 70-62 to Cimarron-Memorial on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (60), Lutheran still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Braydon Jacob, who scored 25 points. Jacob scored a full 40.3% of Lutheran's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Lalo Gonzales was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Lutheran and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lutheran's road trip will continue as they head out to face The Meadows School at 2:30 p.m. on December 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (The Meadows School is ranked 51st in Nevada, while Lutheran is ranked 57th in Colorado). As for Cimarron-Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Legacy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
