Softball Recap: Langham Creek Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

After losing to Bridgeland the last time they met, Langham Creek decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Langham Creek Lobos came out on top against the Bridgeland Bears by a score of 4-1 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lobos.

Karli Challburg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run allowed (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Langham Creek's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rebekah Foster, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Foster has posted since back in April of 2024. Mckenna Simmons also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Langham Creek pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 8.8 hits in those games compared to only 4.4 in the others. As for Bridgeland, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Langham Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Cypress Woods at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Langham Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Cypress Woods' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bridgeland, they will head out to face off against Cypress Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
