Baseball Recap: Middletown Gets the Win

Middletown lost to Lower Lake back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Mustangs walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Trojans. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Trojans on their field since April 28, 2023.

The team relied heavily on Jon Hawkins, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cody De Jong also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Middletown's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Lower Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15-1 record this season.

Middletown will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lower Lake: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
