Surry Central is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Forbush just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Surry Central wouldn't go down easily and took Forbush into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 12-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when East Surry challenged West Stokes on Thursday. The Cardinals blew past the Wildcats 3-0.

East Surry's got stronger as the match went on, holding West Stokes to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-14, 25-12.

East Surry's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Surry Central, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
