Soccer Game Preview: Spring Valley vs. South Charleston

The Spring Valley Timberwolves will face off against the South Charleston Black Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Valley's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Spring Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Winfield, who was ranked 11th at the time (Spring Valley was ranked 13th). The Timberwolves fell just short of the Generals by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Spring Valley have struggled against Winfield recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Filip Jessen and Levi Yeoman scored both of Spring Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Meanwhile, South Charleston fell victim to Greenbrier East and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 4-0.

South Charleston's loss dropped their record down to 6-10-4. As for Spring Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5-5.
