Recap: O'Neill Raiders vs. Fonda-Fultonville Braves
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the O'Neill Raiders can now relate to. They were the victim of a tough 33-7 loss at the hands of the Braves on Saturday. While losing is never fun, O'Neill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Fonda-Fultonville is ranked 68th).
When it comes to explaining why O'Neill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marek Arbogast. Despite the final result, he picked up 145 receiving yards and a touchdown. Arbogast's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards.
Fonda-Fultonville found their leader in underclassman Keegan Croucher, who threw for 177 yards and a touchdown.
O'Neill's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Fonda-Fultonville, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
O'Neill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fonda-Fultonville will head out on the road to face off against Waverly at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Waverly is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
