Basketball Recap: Central Carolina Academy Comes Up Short

Central Carolina Academy lost against Cornerstone Charter back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles had to suffer through a 63-16 loss at the hands of the Cardinals. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-8.

Despite the defeat, Central Carolina Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jax Gaddy posted ten points.

Cornerstone Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charles Walker led the charge by shooting 77% from the field en route to 24 points along with five boards and three steals. Walker is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Jackson Shaffrey was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Central Carolina Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Central Carolina Academy has already played their next matchup, an 85-30 defeat against Neuse Charter on the 18th. As for Cornerstone Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-47 loss against Chatham Charter on the 18th.
