Baseball Recap: Irvine Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Irvine waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the St. Margaret's Tartans get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vaqueros have posted since March 20th.

St. Margaret's batters probably weren't too happy with Drake Brito, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 18 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Irvine is undefeated when Brito posts eight or more strikeouts, but 11-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Evan Tamayo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Irvine pushed their record up to 14-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for St. Margaret's, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.

Irvine will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
