Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ascent Classical Academy). Everything went their way against the Poudre Community Academy Warriors on Friday as the Ascent Classical Academy Guardians made off with a 42-16 victory. The win continues a trend for the Guardians in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Despite the loss, Poudre Community Academy had strong showings from Hayden Belmont, who posted six points along with 11 blocks and five rebounds, and Brooklyn Speer, who earned two points and 20 boards. Those six points gave Belmont a new career-high. Tori Howe was another key player, putting up two points and ten rebounds.

Ascent Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Poudre Community Academy, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Ascent Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 25-23 win against Aurora West College Prep Academy on the 26th. As for Poudre Community Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-11 defeat against STEM School Highlands Ranch on the 27th.
