Basketball Recap: Cusick Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Cusick took on Curlew on Friday. The Cusick Panthers were beaten by the Curlew Cougars 59-26. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-10.

Curlew found their leader in sophomore Annika Baker, who went 8 of 16 en route to 23 points along with eight boards and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Theia Grady, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Cusick's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Curlew, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Republic the next time they take the court. Cusick will head out to face Republic at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Curlew will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
