Smoky Hill can bid farewell to their six-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Overland Trailblazers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-20.

Hayden Kruger paced Smoky Hill's offense, picking up ten kills. Kruger got some help from Anna Austin and her 25 assists. Austin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Smoky Hill's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 9-11. As for Overland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Smoky Hill and Overland will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Buffaloes see the court they'll take on Mullen at 6:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for Overland, their break will end when they face Cherry Creek at 6:30 p.m. on the 21st.
