Baseball Recap: Oakfield-Alabama Comes Up Short

After flying high against Webber on Thursday, Oakfield-Alabama came back down to earth. The Hornets fell just short of the Le Roy Oatkan Knights by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 14-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Oakfield-Alabama saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Tobolski, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Oakfield-Alabama's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Le Roy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakfield-Alabama will host Notre Dame at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 4, the Fighting Irish 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Le Roy, they will be playing at home against Keshequa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Oatkan Knights will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
