O'Dea won the last time they faced Rainier Beach and things went their way on Thursday too. The Fighting Irish enjoyed a cozy 31-16 win over the Vikings. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked second, while the Vikings are ranked 71st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory got O'Dea back to even at 1-1. As for Rainier Beach, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. O'Dea will square off against rival Seattle Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. Meanwhile, Rainier Beach is set to take on their familiar foe Ballard at 12:00 p.m. on the 20th.
