Crystal City is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Natalia a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Crystal City Javelinas will be playing at home against the Natalia Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Crystal City will be strutting in after a win while Natalia will be coming in after a defeat.
Crystal City was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Dilley on Friday. The Javelinas blew past the Wolves 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Javelinas, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Scott Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Abraham Martinez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Crystal City's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Eric Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Crystal City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Natalia suffered their closest defeat since February 28th on Friday. They fell just short of Lytle by a score of 6-4.
Natalia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leo Buentello, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Joe Yanes also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Crystal City's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Natalia, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Everything went Crystal City's way against Natalia in their previous matchup back in March, as Crystal City made off with a 16-3 win. Do the Javelinas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
