Softball Recap: Fond du Lac Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Fond du Lac was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They lost 11-1 to the Hartford Orioles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 11-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Breahna Mentink made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenna Shulits, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Fond du Lac's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Hartford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.

Coincidentally, Fond du Lac and Hartford will both be playing Oconomowoc the next time they take the field. The Orioles will host the Raccoons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cardinals will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
