Basketball Recap: Gibbon Comes Up Short

Gibbon lost against Central City back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Buffaloes had to suffer through a 61-8 loss at the hands of the Bison. The Buffaloes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-5.

Riley Bergstrom was Gibbon's leading scorer, having posted six points.

Karter Negus had a dynamite game For Central City., going 7-for-11 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Negus a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Vakiner, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Gibbon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Gibbon will venture away from home to face off against Arcadia/Loup City at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Central City, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-41 loss against Ord on the 6th.
