Flag Football Recap: Vincent Memorial Extends Winning Streak to 12

Vincent Memorial had won 11 straight games and Azul Trujillo did her part to make it 12 on Monday. The Scots blew past the Holtville Vikings 44-20 thanks in part to Trujillo, who threw for 421 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in one rushing score. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 305 passing yards per game.

Gala Cervantes was another key player, picking up 153 receiving yards and one touchdown. She was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 56 yards.

Vincent Memorial didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Jessica Manriquez picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. What's more, she's the game marked her sixth straight with at least 131. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Vincent Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Holtville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
