Basketball Game Preview: McDonell Central Macks vs. Fall Creek Crickets

McDonell Central is 2-8 against Fall Creek since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Macks will square off against the Crickets at 6:30 p.m. McDonell Central has given up an average of 57.8 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between McDonell Central and Stanley-Boyd, and Stanley-Boyd kept the tradition alive. The Macks received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 65-48 to the Orioles.

Meanwhile, Fall Creek hadn't done well against Elk Mound recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Crickets were the clear victors by a 71-49 margin over the Mounders. The Crickets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Fall Creek is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.3 points. As for McDonell Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

McDonell Central ended up a good deal behind Fall Creek when the teams last played last Tuesday, losing 52-38. Can the Macks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
