Basketball Game Preview: Ravenna Ravens vs. Streetsboro Rockets

Ravenna is 2-8 against Streetsboro since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ravenna Ravens will head out to take on the Streetsboro Rockets at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Ravenna lost to Garfield at home by a 52-36 margin. The match marked the Ravens' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Streetsboro put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Woodridge 61-39. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Ravenna better keep an eye on Jackson Gula. He was instrumental in Streetsboro's win, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. That's the most points Gula has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Ethan Laryea, who posted eight points.

Streetsboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Ravenna's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Streetsboro, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Ravenna was dealt a bruising 64-30 defeat at the hands of Streetsboro when the teams last played back in February. Can Ravenna avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
