Baseball Recap: Gallia Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Rock Hill on Friday, Gallia Academy came back down to earth. The Blue Devils fell 6-1 to the Portsmouth Trojans on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 on April 10th.

Gallia Academy's record is now 12-6. As for Portsmouth, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Gallia Academy and Portsmouth should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Blue Devils will square off against River Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (264 vs. 698). Meanwhile, Portsmouth (ranked 320th) will meet South Point (ranked 683rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
