Football Recap: Colton Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Colton won the last time they faced Rim of the World and Koa Regalado did his part to make sure it happened again. The Yellowjackets came out on top against the Fighting Scots by a score of 56-49 on Friday thanks in part to Regalado, who threw for 388 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 177 yards and a pair of scores. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.

Colton's leading receiver Kalvin Leon was Regalado's top target yet again, picking up 220 receiving yards and two TDs. With that strong performance, Leon is now averaging an impressive 108.2 receiving yards per game.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Colton, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jonathan Quiroz, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Rim of the World still got an impressive performance from Tatum Ortiz, who rushed for 355 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. What's more, he's the game marked his 11th straight with at least 100 dating back to last season. Sergio Victorio was in the mix too, providing Rim of the World with two scores.

Colton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Rim of the World, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Colton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 51-0 win against San Gorgonio on the 31st. As for Rim of the World, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-7 victory against Kaiser on the 31st.
