Basketball Recap: Power Center Academy Knights vs. Melrose Golden Wildcats
The Power Center Academy Knights lost against the Melrose Golden Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Power Center Academy fell 54-43 to the Golden Wildcats. Power Center Academy has not had much luck with the Golden Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Melrose got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taveon Stitmon out in front who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stitmon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Sanders Jr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Power Center Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Melrose, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Ridgeway the next time they take the court. Power Center Academy will head out to face the Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Golden Wildcats will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
