Soccer Recap: Innovation Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

It's playoff time, and Innovation had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Gainesville Hurricanes a 4-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Innovation needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

They hit Gainesville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emily Ortega (2), Aubrey Lavezzi, and Luz Quintero.

Innovation has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five matchups. As for Gainesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

Innovation has already played their next contest, a 6-2 win against New Smyrna Beach on the 11th. Gainesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
