Preview: Lawrence Cardinals vs. Pemberton Hornets
Lawrence is on an 11-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Pemberton an 11-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Lawrence Cardinals will take on the Pemberton Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Lawrence fell victim to Steinert's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Spartans 34-0.
Meanwhile, Pemberton also failed to score in their most recent game. They were dealt a 44-0 defeat at the hands of Cinnaminson on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Pemberton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while Cinnaminson is ranked 113th).
The losses dropped Lawrence to 0-10 and Pemberton to 0-9.
Lawrence strolled past Pemberton in their previous meeting back in October of 2021 by a score of 24-8. Does Lawrence have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pemberton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
