Volleyball Recap: Swink Extends Winning Streak to 13

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Swink walked away with it. They blew past the Del Norte Tigers 3-0 on Saturday. The Lions are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 13 straight.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-14, 25-18.

Emma Gacnik paced Swink's offense, picking up ten kills. Gacnik got some help from Briana McElroy and her 15 assists. Finally, Daisy Heberlie kept Swink's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.

Del Norte lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Julia Trujillo, who had ten digs and seven kills. Elaina Consaul was another key player, getting 15 digs.

Swink's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Del Norte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, Swink and Del Norte will both be playing Heritage Christian the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
