Baseball Recap: Starpoint Comes Up Short

Starpoint came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-0 to the Amherst Central Tigers. Spartans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Tigers since on Saturday.

Starpoint saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was NOLAN CONNOR, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Starpoint dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Amherst Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Starpoint will face off against rival Hamburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Amherst Central is set to take on their familiar foe Sweet Home at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
