Baseball Game Preview: Woodcreek Timberwolves vs. Roseville Tigers

For the second straight game, Woodcreek will face off against Roseville. The Timberwolves will take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodcreek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Roseville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Woodcreek took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Roseville, sneaking past 6-4.

Dane Wyles and Bryson Ruiz dominated on the mound. Wyles pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Ruiz pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Ruiz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Woodcreek let Aaron Palmer and LT Lindsay run wild. Palmer got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Lindsay went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Lindsay has posted since back in April of 2024. Keagan Brown also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Woodcreek is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Roseville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.
