Basketball Recap: Kiowa Takes a Loss

Kiowa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Flatirons Academy Bison, falling 86-13. The match marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Kiowa had strong showings from Myles Erker, who posted six points, and James Brewer, who put up a point and seven boards.

Brandon Ewing was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-13 on his way to 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Flatirons Academy. Ewing is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Courkamp, who scored 11 points in addition to eight steals and five assists.

Kiowa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Flatirons Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Kiowa will challenge Pikes Peak Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pikes Peak Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season. As for Flatirons Academy, they will take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flatirons Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
