Basketball Game Preview: Norland Vikings vs. Stranahan Mighty Dragons

The Norland Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the Stranahan Mighty Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Norland saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 74-66 win over St. Brendan. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Norland had a senior duo take command as Lorenzo Major went 8 of 14 en route to 20 points and five assists and Oneal Norelus almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Major has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Watson, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stranahan). They blew past Plantation 70-49 on Monday. The Mighty Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Stranahan has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Norland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
