Flag Football Recap: Deasia Mauldin Leads Kennedy's Defense on Wednesday

Kennedy fought the good fight in their overtime game against Westminster on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 19-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Fighting Irish couldn't push the score so high this time.

Although Kennedy took the loss, they still got scores from Christine Carlson and Ariana Navarro.

Even if they lost, Kennedy's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. DeAsia Mauldin was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three herself. Kennedy got some further help from Mackenzie Connely: she picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Westminster, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-11.

Kennedy has already played their next matchup, a 14-7 defeat against Valencia on the 6th. As for Westminster, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-6 loss against Fullerton on the 6th.
