Basketball Recap: Valley Triumphs

Eldorado came into Friday's game looking for another win against Valley, but Carter Monroe wouldn't allow it. The Valley Vikings skirted past the Eldorado Golden Eagles 52-50 thanks in part to Monroe, who shot 6-for-11 from long range and dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played.

The win got Valley back to even at 6-6. As for Eldorado, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Albuquerque at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season. As for Eldorado, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Rio Grande at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Eldorado is facing Rio Grande at the right time seeing as Rio Grande is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
