Softball Recap: North Myrtle Beach Beats Socastee for Their Fourth Straight Win

North Myrtle Beach won the last time they faced Socastee and things went their way on Wednesday too. North Myrtle Beach walked away with a 7-3 win over Socastee. Winning may never get old, but the Chiefs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Nealy Lockner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Kiera Olson was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Katybeth Currie, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

North Myrtle Beach hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive matchups.

North Myrtle Beach's record is now 7-4. As for Socastee, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

North Myrtle Beach will have a chance to go back-to-back against Socastee: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
