Baseball Recap: Early Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Conway, Early was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the New Heights Christian Academy Cougars by a score of 8-5. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 15-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cash Graves made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Graves was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Levi Pellham was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Doyle, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Early's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for New Heights Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Coming up, Early will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Dadeville at 5:00 p.m. As for New Heights Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Exeter at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
