Volleyball Game Preview: Southwest Patriots vs. Lamar County Trojans

Southwest is 0-3 against Lamar County since August of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Southwest beat Central 2-0.

While Southwest won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Lamar County had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Eagles.

Lamar County's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Southwest, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Southwest came up short against Lamar County when the teams last played back in August of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
