Basketball Recap: Academy of Richmond County Gets the Win

Academy of Richmond County won the last time they faced Hephzibah and things went their way on Saturday too. The Academy of Richmond County Musketeers walked away with a 51-44 win over the Hephzibah Rebels.

Hephzibah's loss came despite strong showings from ISAIAH RICHARDSON and JAMARCUS SALMOND. RICHARDSON dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, while SALMOND posted 13 points. That was a full 43.2% of Hephzibah's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Academy of Richmond County's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Hephzibah, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Academy of Richmond County and Hephzibah could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Academy of Richmond County (ranked 283rd) will meet Westside (ranked 110th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hephzibah will square off against Baldwin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 315 places (397 vs. 82).
