Baseball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft lost against Payton College Prep back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles lost 12-1 to the Grizzlies. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Taft saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Israel Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Danny Marr, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Taft is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5. As for Payton College Prep, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-7.

While Taft had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
