Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is College Park's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

College Park lost to The Woodlands back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The College Park Cavaliers enjoyed a cozy 58-42 victory over The Woodlands Highlanders. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Highlanders are ranked 496th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

College Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Buckmon, who went 8 of 14 en route to 23 points and three steals. Jacob Oman was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

College Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for The Woodlands, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.

College Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. College Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Cleveland likes a good challenge. The Woodlands has already played their next contest (against New Caney), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
