Grundy Center strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the East Marshall Mustangs a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Grundy Center pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for East Marshall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
