Basketball Recap: Gridley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Orland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gridley). They claimed a resounding 78-35 victory over the Orland Trojans. With the Bulldogs ahead 45-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Bikram Kullar was his usual excellent self, putting up 20 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Boyan, who posted 15 points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Gridley was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Orland still got an impressive performance from Dominick Bose, who earned ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Rory Moreci, who had five points.

Gridley is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Orland, they dropped their record down to 15-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Gridley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-33 win against Oroville on the 28th. Orland has also already played their next matchup, an 82-81 victory against Las Plumas on the 28th.
