Basketball Game Preview: San Gabriel Academy Eagles vs. Sacramento Adventist Capitals

The San Gabriel Academy Eagles and the Sacramento Adventist Capitals will round out the year against one another at at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

San Gabriel Academy is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Southwestern Academy on December 11th. San Gabriel Academy really took it to Southwestern Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-10 victory. With the Eagles ahead 41-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Sacramento Adventist had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 60-19 stomp they got against the Hawks. The Capitals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 23 points or more this season.

Sacramento Adventist's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for San Gabriel Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

San Gabriel Academy was dealt a bruising 62-35 loss at the hands of Sacramento Adventist when the teams last played back in December of 2019. Can San Gabriel Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
