Softball Recap: Shelbyville Beats Alba-Golden for Their Fourth Straight Win

It's playoff time, and Shelbyville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Alba-Golden Panthers on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Dragons, who have now won four games in a row.

Taylor Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carsey Lovell, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadee Harley, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Shelbyville's victory bumped their record up to 22-10. As for Alba-Golden, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 20-9 record.

Shelbyville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
