Basketball Recap: Brownell Talbot Takes a Loss

Brownell Talbot lost against Boys Town back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Brownell Talbot Raiders took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boys Town Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Cowboys are ranked 54th).

When it comes to explaining why Brownell Talbot lost, don't look at Simon Lim. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 18 en route to 22 points and seven boards. That's the most points Lim has posted since back in December of 2024. Perry Anderson was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Brownell Talbot dropped their record down to 9-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Boys Town, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brownell Talbot will venture away from home to take on Lourdes Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brownell Talbot is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. As for Boys Town, they will head out to square off against Ralston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
