Baseball Recap: Interlachen Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Interlachen entered their tilt with Crescent City on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 9-4. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Rodney Blackwelder, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Interlachen: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-7 otherwise. Robert McCumbers also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Interlachen now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Crescent City, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, Crescent City will square off against Warner Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Interlachen will be paying especially close attention to Crescent City's match: after Crescent City faces off against Warner Christian Academy, they'll take on Interlachen again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
