Baseball Recap: Taylor Victorious

Taylor took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Trenton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Griffins skirted past the Trojans 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Griffins: when they faced off against the Trojans back in April, they had to take a 10-0 loss.

Jason Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Taylor is 8-4 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Taylor's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Seth Anderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Anderson has posted since back in April.

Taylor's win bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Trenton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-8.

Coming up, Taylor will face off against St. Clair at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Trenton, they will take on Allen Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
