Basketball Game Preview: Amador Valley Dons vs. Monte Vista Mustangs

The Amador Valley Dons just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Monte Vista Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Monday, Amador Valley didn't have too much trouble with Livermore as they won 81-64. Given the Dons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Cowboys are ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista came up short against San Ramon Valley on Friday and fell 71-60. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

The win made it two in a row for Amador Valley and bumps their season record up to 19-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Monte Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.

Amador Valley came up short against Monte Vista when the teams last played last Friday, falling 47-38. Can Amador Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
