Football Game Preview: La Jolla Vikings vs. San Diego Cavers + How To Watch

The La Jolla Vikings will square off against the San Diego Cavers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Jolla has given up an average of 30 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

San Diego is facing La Jolla at the wrong time: La Jolla suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They had to suffer through a 54-3 loss at the hands of the Hornets. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

La Jolla didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nicolas Bardaro and Lukas Grismer. Grismer is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, San Diego never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 31-0 victory over St. Augustine. The result was nothing new for the Cavers, who have now won three contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

San Diego's defense made their presence known, laying out Vince Smith four times. St. Augustine's QB won't forget Esteban Herrera anytime soon given he sacked him three times.

La Jolla's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for San Diego, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

La Jolla strolled past San Diego in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 by a score of 36-17. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
