Softball Recap: Cardinal Mooney Triumphs

Cardinal Mooney's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Bayshore Bruins get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

Cardinal Mooney let Ava Proffitt and Kaitlyn Will run wild. Proffitt got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Will went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Proffitt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella De Carlo, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Cardinal Mooney now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bayshore, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cardinal Mooney will head out to face off against Braden River at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bayshore, they will venture away from home to challenge Booker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
