Baseball Recap: Wilmot Comes Up Short

Wilmot scored first but ultimately less than Waterford in their match on Friday. They lost 10-2 to the Wolverines. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Wolverines: they've now lost six in a row.

Wilmot saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Price, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Preston Jones also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wilmot's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Waterford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Wilmot will take on Delavan-Darien at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers are facing the Comets at the right time seeing as the Comets are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Waterford, they will head out to take on Burlington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
