Baseball Recap: Meadow Heights Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Meadow Heights won against Bismarck on Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Panthers walked away with a 5-1 win over the Leopold Wildcats. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won four contests in a row.

Kamden Hays was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

Hays wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Payden Lema, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Lema has hit this season.

Meadow Heights' record is now 10-8. As for Leopold, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-6 record.

Coming up, Meadow Heights will head out to challenge St. Vincent at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leopold, they will host Advance at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
